
Karin is a speech pathologist with more than 30 years of clinical paediatric experience in the fields of Developmental Delay and Disorders in Speech and Language, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Early Intervention, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), and Language for School Aged Learning.
Karin graduated from Curtin University of Technology (Perth, WA) with a B App Science (Speech and Hearing Science) in 1989. Since then she has worked as a speech pathologist in a variety of settings, ranging from public hospitals, the disability sector and private practice.
Karin has worked as a private speech pathologist in Western Australia since 2000. In 2011, she moved to the Gold Coast with her family and established this private speech pathology clinic.
Karin has specialised in paediatric speech pathology practice, particularly in the areas of early intervention and working with children with special needs. She has had extensive experience in working with school aged children in the areas of language for literacy, spelling and reading development. She has a passion for functional communication and the use of technology to assist communication and learning development. She also has extensive experience in using the iPad and apps in therapy and communication development.
Karin is a Certified Hanen Therapist and has undergone Advanced training in PROMPT therapy which has supported her interest in motor speech disorders. Her continuing commitment to Professional Development has provided her with extra training and knowledge in the fields of Autism, Early Language Development, Cerebral Palsy and Motor Speech Disorders, and Technology in Communication.
Karin is a Certified Practicing member of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia and the local Gold Coast Private Speech Pathology Network.
